Thinking of life in spheres helps me think about things, here are the spheres that I’m dwelling in:
physical/body: diet worked, lost weight, became more physically fit, hiked a lot in the mountains, ran a 10k in Charlotte and injured my left knee, plodded along and due to new employment fitness got shuffled to the back of the priority list. Gained about 20 lbs back.
mental: learned a lot about computers, got certified, became employed and learned a lot more; learning has become stagnant. Need to focus and get more training.
spiritual: shuffled around churches, seeking focused leadership and wholly commitment. Need to be in the community. Found (by the grace of God) a small rural church, plugged in and growing. Seeking to lead my family and point them to Jesus.
Or are we? The men of our generation are absent at best. Apathetic! Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22 KJV I am quite sure that they are not even listeners even though they are present. I feel like men of this generation is caught up into careers and sports. Let’s endeavor to shake ourselves free of this hard baked-on clay of old sinful flesh, and put on the new self. The power behind that comes from above, but are we seeking it or just being complacent?
Can I get my library down to 100 books? I’m not counting electronic versions or Bibles. I’m also considering keeping my reference books (commentaries, the atlas, various dictionaries). We have a little house, and we need more space in the months ahead.
It wasn’t a hard breakup.
Now if I can remove myself from facebook.
If I want to break a dish, you’ll know about it!
– Michael, when stacking a dirty dish on the counter to be washed it fell, crashed into another dish and broke. Jess responds, “Use your words Michael!”
Ever hear the phrase, “it’s a jungle out there?” I think a more appropriate way to say it would be: “it’s tough to live in the wilderness.”
